A UK-led consortium, coordinated by CRC, is set to bring world-class fire safety training and technology to the Indian Ocean region.

Compliance and Risk Consultancy (CRC) has taken on a new international mission: helping to raise fire safety and emergency response standards across the Indian Ocean.

Working with leading UK fire industry companies, CRC will coordinate a programme designed to strengthen the skills, technology, and systems of a national fire and emergency authority in the region. The project will create a platform for long-term cooperation between the UK and regional partners, opening opportunities for training, technology transfer, and community engagement.

Key areas under development include:

  • Advanced firefighter training using expert trainers and simulation tools.
  • Introducing cutting-edge technology such as drones, robotics, and modern digital control systems.
  • Building stronger emergency management systems to deal with large-scale incidents.
  • Developing public education campaigns to improve fire safety awareness.
  • Supporting regional fire authorities in connecting with global networks and forums.

By bringing UK expertise into the region, CRC is helping to set a new benchmark for fire safety and emergency preparedness. The initiative will also give UK companies the chance to establish a strong presence in markets across the Indian Ocean and Sub-Saharan Africa.

This is not just about equipment or manuals — it is about building practical partnerships that protect lives, strengthen communities, and encourage international cooperation.
